High-End Stainless Steel for Oil and Gas Applications
With the continuous growth and development of the global energy market, the demand for high-performance materials in the oil and gas industry is on the rise. Stainless steel, known for its excellent corrosion resistance and high-temperature performance, is widely utilized in the oil and gas sector. Through extensive exploration of processing technologies, we have integrated innovations such as corrosion-resistant stainless steel composition design for CO2 and H2S resistance, ultra-pure steel non-metallic inclusion control technology, large-ingot-type high-homogeneity low-segregation mold casting technology, significant deformation fine-grain size control forging technology, and high uniformity heat treatment technology.
1) Stainless Steel for Shale Gas Pressure Valve Blocks and Large Wellhead Pressure Components
Utilizing the characteristics of 15-5PH, such as high strength, corrosion resistance, and high aspect ratio, we have become a leading enterprise in manufacturing large precipitation-hardened stainless steel fluid valve blocks. Fluid valve blocks manufactured from 15-5PH exhibit a service life of up to 1000 hours. The mechanical properties of our produced fracturing pump body forgings are outstanding, with uniform structure and high purity. Mechanical performance, a comprehensive indicator of material quality, is influenced by factors such as grain size, ferrite content, segregation, and purity. In comparison to other companies, our fracturing pump body forgings exhibit twice the room temperature impact performance under similar tensile performance. We have extended our mature large forging heat treatment technology to super-large wellhead pressure equipment and the high-pressure food safety sector. For instance, stainless steel material F6NM 75ksi for spray preventers can produce a maximum size of 600mm *550mm, with a full-section Rockwell hardness below 22HRC, meeting all corrosion resistance requirements of NACE MR0175.
2) Stainless Steel for Completion Tools, Valve Bodies, and Valve Components
S13Cr 95ksi, S13Cr 110ksi, designed to resist H2S stress corrosion cracking, undergoes research in terms of corrosion quality loss and local corrosion, demonstrating high grain size and uniform tempered martensitic structures. The δ-ferrite is controlled within 0.5%, and the full-section hardness difference is ≤2HRC. Valves and valve bodies made of AISI 410SS, F6NM are usually forged from bars to form components for oilfield valves. These components exhibit excellent longitudinal and transverse performance, low-temperature impact resistance, and corrosion resistance. The main technical challenge lies in low-temperature impact toughness, with different requirements for impact performance at temperatures such as -29°C and -46°C, depending on the user’s operating environment.
